By purchasing the factory building of the LRO company the Autoliv Ltd. from Sweden aims to create 600 jobs in Sepsiszentgyörgy: it will establish a plant manufacturing vehicle safety components already this year.

The Sweden-based Autoliv entered the Romanian labor market in 2007 and it has been continuously expanding since then. It has already established factories in Temesvár, Brassó, Lugos and Prázsmár offering, thereby offering jobs to 2500 people.
By hiring about 600 workers the Swedish group will increase the number of jobs in the city and, moreover, there will be two manufacturing units (the trouser manufacturing plant and the factory run by the Autoliv Ltd.) instead of one single firm.

According to Antal Árpád András, mayor of Sepsiszentgyörgy, attracting the Swedish investment group to our city has been the result of several months of hard work. The company has chosen Sepsiszentgyörgy after examining 16 more cities in the country. In this manner the Autoliv factory has been the first investement into production in Sepsiszentgyörgy in the past 11 years. In addition, the Autoliv Ltd. would like to expand its sphere of activities especially since it aims to hire, next to the anticipated 600 workers, 1400-1500 additional people in the following years. Hopefully the Swedish investment group will put an emphasis on development as well, the appropriate location for this being the industial park from Szépmező.
