Candles, ceramics and pottery, knitwear, weavings, jewelry, wood carvings and other original gifts and creative Christmas decorations were offered at the Christmas Fair in the heart of Sfântu Gheorghe (Sepsiszentgyörgy) between 14–24 December. At the Liberty Square transformed into pedestrian zone, winter songs and dances interpreted by groups from the local schools and kindergartens, traditional culinary delights and winter tastes have created a playful holiday atmosphere. The main aim of the fair organized by the Town was to support the local craftsmen and manufacturers with sale surfaces offered for free and to supply the visitors with a wide range of creative, personalized gifts. During the fair period in a specially arranged yurt all manner of traditional gastronomic specialties such as sausage, liverwurst, greaves, bread and dripping as well as mulled wine waited for those who had got hungry while shopping. The authentic food offer was enriched by gastronomic events like pig butchering and pork jelly cooking contest. Christmas fair in Sfântu Gheorghe (Sepsiszentgyörgy) was first held in 2007.
